Terms of Service

1. Who may use the Service

• The Service is intended for parents and legal guardians who register on behalf of a child, and for children participating under that parent's supervision and consent.
• You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of the child you register.
• A child may not create an account or submit work without a parent's account and verifiable parental consent.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and your child's profile.

2. Parental consent

Participation by a child requires your verifiable parental consent, obtained as described in our Privacy Policy. By providing consent, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and have authority to consent on the child's behalf. You may review, change, or revoke your consent at any time through your account or by contacting us.

3. The Service

OYLA Workbook lets children respond to assignments tied to OYLA magazine, submit photos of their work and optional short answers, and—subject to your per-submission consent—have selected work reviewed and published in a public gallery and/or the magazine.

• All submissions are reviewed by our staff before any publication. We may decline to publish any submission, or remove published content, at our discretion.
• We do not guarantee that any particular submission will be published.

4. Your content and the rights you grant

• You and your child retain ownership of the work your child creates and submits ("Submissions").
• By submitting, and by giving per-submission publication consent, you grant OYLA Workbook a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to review, reproduce, display, and publish the Submission in the OYLA Workbook gallery and in OYLA magazine (print and digital), credited as permitted by your consent choice.
• This license exists only to operate and promote the Service and the magazine. We do not sell your child's Submissions to third parties.
• You can withdraw a Submission from publication by requesting its removal; we will remove it from public display within a reasonable time. Copies already printed in a physical magazine issue cannot be recalled.
• You represent that the Submission is your child's original work and does not infringe anyone else's rights.

5. Acceptable use

You agree that you and your child will not:

• Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a children's platform.
• Submit content that includes other people's personal information without permission, or that identifies the child beyond the limited credit line (first name, age).
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent the child's age.
• Attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by us.

There are no direct messages between children on the Service.

6. Accounts and security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at info@oyla.us if you believe your account has been used without authorization.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, if required by law, or to protect the safety of children or the Service. On termination, we handle data as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OYLA Magazine Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your or your child's use of the Service.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
